To keep a business healthy divestitures at a certain stage of the life cycle is a common business process

Recognize through data transparency and bench-marking when a product has reached a supported break-even and divest carefully and in balance with the entire portfolio. Rush decisions to divest a product or service can be fatal as a market dip can certainly overcome with a series of measures. Carrying on  for too long with non performing products and assets in turn can destroy value in the asset network and product portfolio. Divesting and gradually replacing products are an important business health mechanism.
